The initiative group of OPOs sent an appeal to the Head of State, expressing disagreement with the decision of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding the supply of diesel fuel to the market. In particular, the issue of buying diesel fuel from independent oil-producing organisations and resource holders at the maximum wholesale price set by the Ministry of Energy for the purpose of subsequent delivery to petrol stations was raised.
On May 3, 2023, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan arranged an emergency meeting on this issue with the participation of major petrol station operators, representatives from OPOs, NK Kazmunaigas JSC and state authorities.
